Dear Family,

Things in West Memphis are going slow but very well! We have a couple of things going on so let me update you!

We are still working with Steve and Zach Taylor. They are doing ok. Paula Taylor (the member) however is not doing too well. She is going through a lot right now health wise and the doctors have basically given her 3 months to live. So their lives are really stressed out right now. Steve and Zach we planning on getting baptized this weekend but we decided that it would be better to move it to the 6th of February because that way Paula can attend the baptisms. Steve however wants to wait until March because she wants Paula’s dad to baptize him and I don’t think his dad would be available until then.

I don’t know if I told you about Arthur Wing but he is a friend of the Taylors. He also has a baptismal date for the 6th of February. We are excited for him because he is excited. He asked if he could come teaching with us and we told him yes, when he is a member. He is such a good guy. Wants to do what is right and wants to change his life.

Other than that, there isn’t much else. I do have a funny/embarrassing story though. So on Saturday, we were going to help a member move. So, we went with this guy named Bro. Thomas to help him move. Well, he needed to borrow a truck from another member so they can move the other member. So we go get this members truck and then proceed to pick up someone else to get help with the moving. Well, attached to the truck was a empty trailer so we could put more stuff to carry. Well, when we were leaving the house that we went to, to pick someone up from, Bro. Thomas couldn’t get the trailer backed up so he asked if he could drive on their lawn to turn around. He said yes. So he proceeds to go across the lawn and then proceeds to get stuck. He then tries for the next 15 minutes to get out but is just getting deeper and deeper into their lawn. So, the members inside the house were asleep until they heard us. They weren’t too happy. Anyway, some people in a truck saw us pass by and saw that we were stuck so they offered help. We accepted the help and we finally got out. The damages to the lawn were pretty bad. On top of that, the lawn that Bro Thomas drove over was where the septic tank was. It started to stink after a while. I just hope Bro Thomas doesn’t have to pay a whole lot to get everything fixed. But I guess we learn from our mistakes.

Crazy story though, Man, I am just so grateful it wasn’t me. :) Thank you for your love and support and prayers. I sure do love and miss y’all. Thanks again for all that you do!

Love,

Elder Kyle Parker
